Tender and intimate: Behind-the-scenes at Amal and George Clooney’s Venice wedding
Amal Alamuddin and George Clooney have shared new pictures from their wedding in Venice
The couple have released a series of pictures from inside their intimate Venice wedding, which took place in September.
The pair, who are notoriously very private, have surprised their legions of admirers with the beautiful, touching shots from inside the Aman Canal Grande Hotel.
In the first shot Amal, 36, who wore a stunning white lace Oscar de la Renta frock to wed her ER hunk, is pictured kissing George with her hands on his face.
Having just said their vows, the couple look loved-up and pleased to be finally pronounced as man and wife.
Surrounded by their friends and family, with many of them standing and applauding, George and Amal look blissfully content as they kiss.
International human rights lawyer Amal’s mother is pictured in the background wiping a tear from her face as the couple make their love official.
Marrying the couple, and taking a step back from the proceedings, Walter Veltroni is pictured with the wedding book in his hand. Water is the couple’s close friend and ex-mayor of Rome.
The couple opted for a Art Deco theme for their big day
In the second intimate shot George, 53, and his new bride Amal are pictured next to their wedding cake.
Posing playfully alongside the giant baked good, Amal is pulling a face as she holds a knife with her new husband.
It’s tradition for a newly married couple to make the first slice into a wedding cake, and it looks like George and Amal very much enjoyed this act.
With Amal still wearing her beautiful white dress, George looks dapper in his black suit and shirt – having ripped off his bow tie after saying ‘I do’.
The cake followed an art deco theme, with decoration looking simply spectacular fashion and four giant tiers.
The size of the desert was one of the most impressive aspects, towering over the couple having been placed delicately on a table for all guests to see.
Amal's dress was designed by the late fashion designer Oscar de la Renta
