Joan Collins is set to become a Dame at the age of 81
The 81-year-old star could be set to become a Dame following her career in showbiz which spans over 40 years.
According to the Daily Mail, will finally receive a long-awaited damehood in the New Year’s Honours.
Speaking to the newspaper, entrepreneur and London Mayoral hopeful Ivan Massow said: “There has always been talk about it, there are pressure groups out there who are desperate for this to happen. She’s one of our biggest stars.”
Joan began her career at the age of nine when she made her stage debut in A Doll’s House, and mastered her craft at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in London.

She headed to Hollywood at the tender age of 22 and found fame after starring in films such as The Stud and The Bitch.
But it was her award-winning role as Alexis Carrington in popular Eighties soap Dynasty, which really secured Joan’s success around the world.
Speaking about the possibility of her damehood, Joan’s good friend Christopher Biggins told the publication: “I would be absolutely thrilled, there’s no one more deserving.”
Mother-of-three Joan currently splits her time between London, Los Angeles and St Tropez with her husband Percy Gibson.
