‘I became someone’s fiancée last night!’ Katie Piper announces engagement to partner James
Katie Piper has announced that she is engaged to her partner James
The 31-year-old star took to her Twitter page this morning to announce that her partner James had popped the question.
“So excited to tell you all………….. I became someone’s fiancé last night! I’m engaged to be married :)” she wrote, forgetting to add an extra ‘e’ at the end of fiancée amidst all the excitement.
It seems that James got down on one knee as the happy couple enjoyed a romantic night in at home.
Sharing a photo on her Instagram page, which showed her dressed up at home and about to enjoy a candlelit dinner, Katie wrote: “Pretending we are going out for dinner! Cooking 3 course meal, dressed in our best clothes- all taking place at our kitchen table! Parents night in/out #nobabysitterneeded.”
Katie and James became parents to baby Belle in March of this year
She then posted another picture, which showed the delicious meal that James had cooked for her – so he was clearly pulling out all the stops for the big night.
Alongside the snap, Katie wrote: “I think my boyfriend has potential as a chef! Baked Cod with Capers.”
She and carpenter James welcomed their baby girl, Belle Elizabeth, into the world earlier this year and currently reside in London.
Katie became well-known following a vicious attack back in 2008, which saw her ex-boyfriend rape and beat her and then organise for someone to throw sulphuric acid in her face.
The model has been through a total of 100 operations to treat her injuries, and earlier on this year, she admitted that she never thought she’d be able to find love again.
Katie shared the happy news on her Twitter page this morning
In an excerpt from her autobiography, Beautiful Ever After, she said: “I had a career with my television work, and with my burns charity, the Katie Piper Foundation. I had great friends and a place of my own. A boyfriend seemed like the missing piece of the puzzle.
“Often I’d get chatting to a guy and he would seem interested in everything I said. I’d get excited, feeling sure we’d really connected.”
She added: “Then the next day I’d be gutted when a text message arrived asking me to open his village fete or draw the raffle ticket at his work Christmas do.”
Speaking about her relationship with James, she explained: “It was what I’d longed to hear for years. The moment I never thought would come.
“Finally, someone who was proud to be with me and didn’t care what other people thought.
